2022 EDITION CONFIRMED!

Waterloo, October 27, 2021 - The Waterloo National Pee-Wee Tournament Board of Directors met on October 26, and all of its members voted unanimously to move forward with the 47th edition of the tournament from January 17th to the 30th 2022..

Following some discussions with the City of Waterloo, the opinion of the board of directors is that it is possible to invite young U13 hockey players to the Aréna Jacques Chagnon so that they can compete for top honors. Of course, the pandemic imposes some restrictions that will make the next edition special. Except for the players and officials of the game in progress, for all people present in the arena, including the players in their rooms, the wearing of a mask will be mandatory. A maximum number of 250 spectators will be allowed in the building and they must be seated and be 2 meters away from the people who are not part of their family bubble.

Of course, we intend to reconnect with our valiant volunteers who have been missed due to the cancellation of the tournament in 2021. They will be contacted shortly to explain the administrators' decision. The same goes for our sponsors. Unsurprisingly, the profits projected by the organization have been revised downwards, given the pandemic, but we are counting on their generosity to give back as much as possible to the Brome-Yamaska Minor Hockey Association.
It is clear that the 47th edition will not be as warm as the previous ones, but, for the administrators, it is better to make our young players play in this context than not to make them play at all. We are already looking forward to having you among us to encourage our hockey youth.
